WHAT IS PHOTOMODULATION?Like growth factors, photomodulation is used to stimulate certain cell functions. That is why it is used in combination with the technique previously described, creating a setting with an ideal temperature to enhance the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It specifically stimulates: Mitochondrial receptors of skin fibroblasts
Mitochondrial receptors of skin stem cells
Skin blood flow, through vasodilatation with an increase in temperature
The stimulation of these three structures leads to: Increased synthesis of collagen
An increase of proteins in the extracellular matrix
A decrease of degrading proteins (collagenases) in the extracellular matrix
Photomodulation is performed with two systems that emit non-coherent light: OmniluxNarrow band coherent light, used to treat different conditions due to its three types of light emission. It is used for acne and pre-malignant lesions and also presents a specific type of light emission for skin rejuvenation. The patient is exposed to a lamp for 10 or 15 minutes. This device is used for:Photodynamic therapy: Previous application of a photosensitizing acid to the light to obtain optimal results.
Photomodulation: No application of acid, it achieves a stimulating effect.
Gentle WavesNarrow band coherent light to which the patient is exposed to achieve great facial rejuvenation. Unlike Omnilux, it emits only one type of light. RESULTS: Increase of collagen fibers and proteins in the extracellular matrix. The epidermis recovers elasticity, the pore closes and retreats, leading to great improvement in photoaged skin. It can be applied to the face, cleavage or hands. IML - Paseo del General Martínez Campos, 33 - 28010 Madrid - Tlf. 91 702 46 27 - consulta@iml.es
