WHAT ADVANCES ARE THERE IN SUSPENSION THREADS?

Contour Threads, I Lift, Silhouette

It is a material that resembles a piece of thread as fine as hair that has been widely used for years in reconstructive surgery. In the United States, it has been applied in the correction of flaccidness and sagging of facial and neck tissues for more than 7 years. Its advantage over other subcutaneous threads is that this suture has microscopic teeth arranged in a helicoidal fashion (spiral), with a small hook at one of the ends that permits fixation to a fixed structure thus avoiding possible displacement or migration.

CORRECTION OF THE TOP THIRD AND BROW LIFT

The sutures are threaded through the scalp and anchored at the root of the hair just above the eye brow tail creating very stable traction. Only two stitches are required on either side of the scalp. Reincorporation to routine social life is immediate.

Correction Of The Mid Third

This modality permits the repositioning of the cheek, the correction of the nasogenian line and the elimination of sad-like lines that give the face a depressed look.

A 2 mm incision is made in a hidden area at the level of the temple. Through this incision, several pieces of thread are inserted in a fan-shaped fashion with the help of a needle that advances the threads as far as the nasogenian line from which they emerge.

The small hook incorporated at the opposite end permits anchorage to the periostium or the non-elastic fibrous tissue overlying the bones. Next, the hooks are cut and the threads knotted in pairs, so that the threads are knotted among themselves and the structure providing anchorage. The skin is repositions on these small teeth as needed to achieve the desired correction. Once the new position is achieved, the emerging ends of the thread pieces are cut remaining under the skin.

Correction Of The Mid Third And Neck

This technique permits the correction of sagging facial contours and the elimination of any redundant or excess skin in the neck and submandibular region.

A 2 mm incision is performed at the level of the mastoid in a hidden area behind the ear. Four or five pieces of thread guided by a needle are brought through this incision as far as the centre of the neck.

The threads are arranged in parallel, one next to the other, coinciding in the incision performed behind the ear. The rest of the procedure is performed as done in the mid third of the face.

Advantages

These new threads, recently appeared on the market have been approved by the FDA and by the EEC and their use has been authorised in Spain. Contour threads were recently launched in the market and provide absolute precision and accuracy. This type of thread provides enhanced anchorage and is the best to achieve excellent corrections with outstanding results.

The technique can be carried out with the patient in a semi-sitting position, distributing the correction more evenly among the different barbs of the thread.

Repositioning of the tissue is not achieved in just one direction but gets distributed evenly all throughout the micro dented surface of the thread.

These sutures can be combined with Aptos threads, injectable fillers, Box, or with any other technique.

PUSH UP RETENSIBLES

WHAT IS IT? Traction-thread system for the treatment of facial flaccidity that repositions the tissue and allows for correction of aged skin one or two years later with minimum aggression.

WHAT IS IT LIKE? System of transparent and fine threads that are placed under the skin with a short needle, tensing the tissue. It is anchored behind the ear or in the scalp, where an 8 mm incision can be performed, introducing a fine biocompatible device that retenses the tissue over time.

HOW IS IT DONE? The threads are placed using a small amount of local anaesthetic on 4 points of the face in a procedure that lasts approximately 40 minutes. There may be slight swelling for three days following treatment. One to two years later, the area can be retensed using a technique that requires only two local anaesthetic points and takes 10 minutes to perform. It has no visible swelling and the patient can continue with their normal life immediately after the procedure.

PRICE: €1,800 to €3,600. Retensing €1,000.
